Political turmoil wont hurt Under-17 Asia Cup Cricket |

Dhaka-- (UNB)- The Second Under-17 Asia Cup Cricket Tournament beginning here from February 15 is being threatened by the current political turmoil. However, the organisers will not reschedule any match if disrupted by hartal. “If we fail to organise any match, then two teams will equally share point” said Mahmudul Haq Manu, event manager and joint-secretary of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). He said BCB would discuss with the participating teams to take decision in this concern. “We will also talk with the opposition and seek their cooperation.” Meanwhile, India announced their 14-member squad for the future cricketers’ tournament and is expected to arrive in the city on February 14. Manvinder Bisla from Haryana have been named captain of the Indian squad while former Indian national all rounder Roger Binny will come as team coach. Team: M Bisla (Haryana, captain), Shekhar Dhawan (Delhi), Sachin Dhopure (Madhya Pradesh), Deepak Chowgule (Karnataka), Mohnish Mishra (Madhya Pradesh), Parthiv Patel (Gujarat, vice captain), Gaurav Gupta (Punjab), G Shankar Rao (Andhra Pradesh), Rakesh Mohanty (Orissa), Bignesh Mohanty (Orissa), K Rawat (Delhi), Stuart Binny (Karnataka), Devendra Singh (Uttar Pradesh), and Nikhil Rathod (Saurashtra). |
